At the beginning of 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guidelines for the Digitalization of Quality Management in Manufacturing (Trial)", pointing out that digital transformation has become an inevitable trend, providing new opportunities and space for quality management in China's manufacturing industry.
In mid-2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with multiple organizations, released the "Action Plan for Digital Assistance in the 'Three Products' Initiative of the Consumer Goods Industry", stating that the consumer goods industry should increase product variety, improve quality, and build brands. Enterprises need to use digital means such as digital quality management, full lifecycle quality traceability, and industrial chain collaboration to enhance product quality.
01 Why were the guidelines issued?
China has the most comprehensive industrial system in the world. Since 2010, the added value of manufacturing has ranked first in the world for 11 consecutive years, further consolidating its position as a major manufacturing country. Among 500 major industrial products, more than 40% have the highest output in the world.

However, overall, the quality level and brand influence of China's industrial products still lag behind the growth in scale, and the situation of being "large but not strong, comprehensive but not excellent" has not yet been fundamentally changed.
